About the Project

Launched in 2019 by Rachel Liverman, Glowbar has emerged as one of the country's fastest-growing brands centered on aesthetician expertise. As a legacy aesthetician whose mother and grandmother were industry icons, Liverman translated her innate skincare mastery into a premier facial destination that has grown to 20 locations and continues to scale.

Having established its expertise in the service sector over several years, Glowbar sought to expand into retail products. The brand's founder collaborated with Kate at Doheny Atelier to develop a cohesive product packaging system, beginning with the debut of the Expert Cleanser. This foundational design successfully paved the way for subsequent releases, including Simple Solution and the Mini Expert Cleanser, with more innovative products currently in development. Doheny Atelier continues to serve as Glowbar's dedicated partner for packaging design.

01 Expert Cleanser Primary Packaging

The Expert Cleanser represents Glowbar's inaugural move into retail, enabling clients to replicate professional facial results at home. Featuring a clinical aesthetic designed to enhance any vanity, the packaging directly reflects the expert-approved, premium formula it contains. To incorporate elements of "surprise and delight," Kate applied her characteristic use of negative space on the back of the packaging, creating a functional indicator for when a restock is needed. This intentional detail functions as both an innovative design solution and a distinct brand touchpoint.

Designed as a compact companion to the original Expert Cleanser, this "mini-me" iteration seamlessly adapts the core packaging system Kate established into a smaller, travel-ready format.

03 Simple Solution Primary Packaging

The design architecture for Glowbar's hypochlorous acid mist, Simple Solution, seamlessly adapts the established visual language of the hero Expert Cleanser to ensure brand consistency. A signature sailor window on the back of the bottle offers a functional touch of surprise and delight, providing customers with a clear view of the remaining product.
