About the Project

Since debuting its first men's fragrance in 1992, Nautica Fragrances has developed a portfolio of more than 40 products. These aspirational scents resonate with a diverse consumer demographic — those who are inspired by the beach, vacation, and a comfortable, sun-drenched active lifestyle.

Kate, the founder of Doheny Atelier, designed the primary and secondary packaging of Nautica Oceans, as well as its ancillaries including a body mist and mini. Nautica sought to bring back a fragrance from the past with a contemporary edge, while making it distinguishable from the original and enhancing its sustainable story. She built a custom-tooled primary and cap that captures the ocean's vibrant blue, cool ocean-side adventurer aesthetic, and water-based, alcohol-free hero claims. The secondary pack encapsulates a lifestyle that looks just as good as the fragrance smells.
